timelessly tailored
“The clients wanted interiors that were provocative, unique, and bespoke to them and also reflected their casual lifestyle. Once the general intent was agreed upon, they trusted DMID to fully execute the design and are now on their third home together.”

HIGH-RISE CONDO
This project began with a classic 1920s residence, gracious in proportion and rich in architectural integrity, yet ultimately misaligned with the lifestyle of a young, design forward family. Our mandate was to transform the home from predictable to exceptional, working intelligently within its existing framework while honoring the clients’ prior investment in both the architecture and their collection.
Throughout the home, moments of transformation are expressed through material. A once ordinary tile floor is now composed of a curated blend of contrasting marbles. Walls are enveloped in a rich merlot finish that deepens the architecture and shifts the atmosphere entirely. In the foyer, where traditional furnishing was neither practical nor impactful, the gesture became the statement. A painted floor pattern draws from surrounding rooms, while black pinstriped moldings and a restrained runner introduce rhythm and definition.
What defines the project is not only its visual impact, but how it lives. Every space is activated and purposeful. Materials were selected for both durability and refinement, allowing the home to support a young family without sacrificing its sense of sophistication. There is an ease in how the rooms transition from daily life to entertaining, never feeling over-designed or precious.
