PRIVATE GOLF COURSE ESTATE
“This serene oasis brings the outside in through the floor to ceiling windows and a one-of-a-kind cantilevered room featuring a freestanding fireplace. A house so fabulous even your cars will want to live in it.”
Set within a private golf course community in Michigan, this 12,000-square-foot residence was designed as a refined retreat for clients whose lifestyle spans multiple homes. Surrounded by mature trees and expansive views, the home embraces a strong connection to nature through architecture, interior design, and materiality.
From the earliest stages of architectural planning through final installation, our team worked closely with the architect to ensure a seamless translation of vision. Together, we created a warm modern environment that balances striking contemporary architecture with an inviting sense of comfort and livability.
Rift white oak, rolled steel, and board-formed concrete establish a restrained architectural framework, while layers of copper, slate, linen, and black add depth, texture, and warmth. Architectural details, including wood-paneled walls with precise reveals, slatted dividers, and sculptural steel elements, create rhythm and continuity throughout the home. Floor-to-ceiling glass, a dramatic cantilevered living space, and materials that blur the boundary between interior and exterior reinforce the home’s biophilic ethos and connection to its setting.
Rather than relying on contrast or excess, the design achieves its impact through restraint, craftsmanship, and a nuanced understanding of texture. Every finish was carefully selected to soften the rigor of the architecture and create a cohesive experience that feels both sophisticated and deeply personal.
The result is a residence that is timeless, grounded, and intrinsically connected to its landscape.
